The delegation of the Ministry for National Development and the Hungarian Space Office held a discussion in Italy, the third largest operator of the European space industry.
The delegation constituted by the heads of nine Hungarian small and medium-sized enterprises visited the centre of the Italian Space Agency (ASI), where the introduction of the enterprises was also possible in addition to the first contact making with the Italian industrial partners. Subsequently, the Hungarian delegation visited the centre of the European Space Agency engaged above all in satellite remote sensing (ESRIN) in Frascati, neighbouring capital Rome. The delegation got familiar with the operation and the main functions of the centre, from the scientific research satellites to the use of Sentinel satellites made for the EU.
About fifty enterprises and research sites are engaged in the Hungarian space industry and space research, their income approaches 2 billion forints, and they employ three hundred people in the industry.The delegation presented the Hungarian space industry at the special meeting held at the Hungarian Embassy in Rome.
